Importance of PPE
PPE is designed to protect employees from serious workplace injuries and illnesses resulting from contact with chemical, radiological, physical, electrical or mechanical hazards. PPE provides the last line of defence against injury.
PPE Legislation
Most countries have Health and Safety laws which place a duty of care on employers for ensuring the safety of their employees and others. Employers are also required to carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments for all work activities in order to decide what measures are necessary for safety.
